DIY Tassel Garland
I've been wanting to make one of these cuties for a while now and I thought it would be just perfect for Valentine's Day! And after the holiday has passed I'm gonna give it to my bff for her cute lil nursery. Win-win! I'll probably make more of these in the future in different colors, since they're super duper easy and customizable. The tassels could be made in any color, they could be longer and skinnier, or you could even make them in varying lengths. Anyway - here is how I made mine!
What You'll Need:
- Yarn in your desired color. I had a lot of extra yarn laying around since I've been knitting lately and there are always scraps left over. I chose the colors I did because they're cute and work with Valentine's Day and would also work in my friend's nursery.
- A piece of cardboard (or you can just use your fingers).
How to Make it:
Cut a little notch out of your cardboard square, a little closer to the top than the bottom.
Wrap the yarn around the cardboard (over the little notch) as many times as needed until it looks like the size you want.
Cut off your yarn tail.
Cut a new piece of yarn, a few inches long.
Thread the piece of yarn around the rest of the yarn and through the notch in the cardboard. Tie it in a knot around the entire wrapped portion.
Pull the yarn completely off the cardboard. Your tassel is almost done now!
Cut through all the yarn loops at the longer end of the tassel. Trim the pieces if they aren't all the same length. And there you go! Now make as many more as you need for the length of your garland.
Here's how mine turned out! I'm soooo in love with this project, I'm pretty sure it's one of the cutest things I've ever made. Definitely put this on your list of things to make!
Happy Friday everyone!
